TECSOUND®’s high visco-elasticity works as an acoustic barrier, thus providing a considerable reduction in sound transmission.High density, asphalt-free, visco-elastic, polymeric membrane, to be applied as a soundproofing / damping element in floors, parquet, metal decks, in combination with absorbent materials.
APPLICATIONS
- Soundproofing against airborne noise in vertical walls with low surface density (lightweight partition walls or boards made of different materials). • Soundproofing against airborne noise in ceilings and lightweight roofs. • Reduction of impact noise level in all types of floors, sandwiched between floor slabs and loose-laid flooring. • Damping of impact noise caused by atmospheric agents on metal decks. • Combined with sound-absorbent materials, it offers products with high acoustic performance. • Its applications in the industrial field cover from the soundproofing of booths to the acoustic insulation of machine-rooms, gutter pipes, sound-damping of metal sheets, etc. • Specially suitable for plasterboard measurements.
For further information see examples in systems sheets.
PROPERTIES
- High acoustic insulation, combined with soft, flexible elements. • Great elongation capacity • Flexible and adaptable to uneven surfaces and shapes. • Easy handling and cutting. • Cold- and heat-resistance. • Excellent ageing resistance. • Does not absorb water. • Rot-proof.
REGULATIONS • In conformity with EN ISO 140-1, EN ISO 140-3, EN ISO 140-6, EN ISO 140-8, EN 20140-2 y EN ISO 717/1/2. • Quality System ISO:9001
INSTALLATION
Substrate: TECSOUND lends itself to all types of normal building substrates (renderings, gypsum board, metal,DM, plastic materials). The substrate must be even, smooth, clean and dry. It must also be free from elements that could damage the membrane. If the rendering is old, its condition must be checked to avoid adherence
problems of the TECSOUND sheet to the rendering.
Installation of the membrane: Prior to installing the membrane, an adhesive must be applied to both substrate and membrane, and left to dry for 15 to 20 minutes before bonding the two surfaces. Pressure must be exerted on all the points to ensure correct adherence.
Installation of the membrane on metal decks: Extend the sheet over the substrate progressively. The membrane must be applied in such a way that the length of the roll is perpendicular to the direction of the framework. The membrane must be made to follow the profile of the metal support at all times, ensuring that there is no formation of air pockets. The thermal insulation boards are then installed, mechanically fastened.
Overlaps: Overlap 5 cm both vertically and horizontally. Care must be taken to always seal the laps correctly, as small gaps can reduce the level of acoustic insulation required.
Yield: 1 m2 of membrane covers approximately 0.95 m2 of surface area, including overlaps. On metal decks this will depend on the design of the fretwork.

Foam-based pipe and duct lagging
Soundlag is a highly ???exible foam-based composite acoustic pipe lagging product. It was developed to reduce breakout noise from wastewater pipes, valves, fan housings and ductwork in commercial, industrial and residential buildings. The product range complies to international fire standards to meet fire safety demands in buildings. All Soundlag products are also equipped with a aluminium foil facing that achieves a Class 0 rating. Soundlag 4525C provides an optimal soundproofing solution for those seeking compliance to BCA (Building Code of Australia) F5.6 requirements for habitable and nonhabitable rooms. Based on test results, Soundlag™ 4525C can o???er a signifcantly higher performance of up to 5 dB(A) compared to low noise pipe products especially in areas with no ceiling or with penetrations. The highly dense ???exible mass layer delivers excellent sound reduction properties. Soundlag’s decoupling layer breaks the vibration path between the substrate and the mass barrier, allowing the vinyl wrap to remain ???exible -optimising performance.
Pyrotek Soundlag is available in a variety of compositions to meet customer requirement. Barrier weights are available in 3 kg/m2 to 5 kg/m2 with convoluted foam, plain foam, polyester or glass wool backing in thicknesses ranging from 6 mm to 50 mm.
Applications
- Wastewater pipes • Hydraulic pipes • Compressor and pump wraps • HVAC • Fan housings
Features
- Better performance - up to 5 dB(A) with Soundlag 4525C compared to low noise pipe products without ceiling or areas with penetrations. • Class 0 aluminium foil facing • Tested to AS/NZS 1530.3 with excellent ???ame resistance (4525C) • Soundlag range complies to international fre standards • Broad operating temperature range • Reduces the noise in hydraulic and wastewater pipes by up to 25.2 dB(A) • Free from odour producing oils and bitumen • Contain no ozone depleting substances • Choice of blue convoluted foam, grey plain foam, polyester or glass wool • Simple to install - can be cut to size • Easy to bond - matching Tape ALR or equivalent • Endorsed and tested by leading acoustic consultants and engineers.

HOW TO APPLY SOUNDLAG USING TAPE
- Tape ALR is easy to tear by hand.
- Remove the release liner backing
- Position tape centrally over the sections to be joined and firmly press along the entire tape surface.
- Wipe or rub with firm pressure across the tape with a cloth or blade to smooth out any air bubbles or buckles. Do not over-stretch the tape when applying, as this will create buckles and voids in the contact area.
All joints along longitudinal pipe sections must be fitted with an overlap of adjoining segments. Overlapped sections must then be taped and sealed with ‘Tape ALR’ or equal. A strip of 30 mm foam can be removed along one or both edges as required to provide for an overlap at joints.

An automatic drop-down seal for doors consists of an internal aluminium profile of variable dimensions depending on the model and on the door system in which it will be installed and of a second inner aluminium profile that is pushed downwards by rigid trust-roads in plastic material. The system is activated by a plunger that pushes against the door frame or on a specific external element when the door closes. Beginning from the plunger side, the internal profile drops downwards to complete its movement on the opposite side for a complete drop. This profile is equipped with a seal the type changes depending on the different models that stick to the floor closing the gap for all the length of the door.
